Brief Guide on Grafting

Frequently asked Questions?

How can I ensure a bountiful harvest with Hortimance Amaksha Black Nightshade?
Plant your Black Nightshade in a location that receives full sun, ideally 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. This will help the plants grow strong and produce healthy fruit.

Bridge grafting tubes made of pharma-grade silicone are ideal for use in horticulture and agriculture. These tubes are soft, flexible, and self-detachable, making them user-friendly and effective for grafting purposes. Depending on the type of plant, you can use tubes ranging in length from 10mm to 20mm. They are suitable for grafting both vegetables and tree seedlings. After approximately 45 days, these tubes naturally detach from the plants, ensuring that the grafting process is seamless and minimizing any potential harm to the graft site.

To prepare seedlings for grafting with brinjal and tomato, follow these steps:

1. **Sowing Seeds**: Sow 7 to 8 seeds in each cell of protrays filled with wet cocopeat as the growing medium.

2. **Covering**: Place the protrays one on top of another and completely cover them with a polythene cover. Ensure the cover is sealed without any air gaps. Place the covered trays under a 50% shade net.

3. **Initial Growth Phase**: Leave the trays covered for 8 days. During this period, the seeds will begin to germinate.

4. **Transition to Grow Beds**: After 8 days, remove the polythene cover and shift the trays to grow beds. Ensure they receive daily watering without any interruptions.

5. **Germination Period**: Seeds will typically germinate within 8 to 30 days, depending on the temperature. High temperatures may delay germination.

6. **Grafting Readiness**: The plants will be ready for grafting with brinjal and tomato on the 60th to 70th day after germination.

This process ensures strong and healthy seedlings suitable for grafting.
